I was watching with my mouth open and thinking “What is wrong with this chick?”
Let’s face it. For 25 seasons of The Bachelor there were plenty of contestants, who annoyed us or we just straight out hated. Every season there is a girl, who steals him multiple times, without respecting the others, or there is a feud between two women that is solved by a two-on-one date. But, oh boy!, this year we saw an exceptional selection of mean and vicious bullies in the house.

I confess, I get really invested in my shows. But I’ve never wanted to take off my shoe and throw it at the laptop quite so much! Let’s address the elephant in the room first – Victoria! I really hope that her whole appearance on the show was scripted. Because otherwise I just can’t believe that such a disgusting, self-absorbed, entitled person could even exist. At first, she calling herself “the queen” did not bother me so much. I guess each girl is looking for a way to attract the attention of the Bachelor. She wearing a crown was fine, but she took the entire thing on a whole new level! And that was just episode one!
Then she decided she does not want to make friends with the rest of the women. That is ok, I am not sure I would have in her situation, either. But the way she talked to them was so RUDE! And not only… Calling them “fake” and “loosers” did not create a great impression on anyone. She was so ANNOYING during the wedding photoshoot that I actually screamed at my computer! If I was one of the other contestants I would probably have pulled her fake-looking extensions off.

She showed two different faces – one to Matt, one to the rest of the women. He was so, so blindsided by her! The fact that she got super jealous because he gave Marylynn her favorite flower and decided to destroy her character in front of him for that, speaks for itself. The poor girl basically did nothing to Victoria, except call her out on her bullshit. Did she deserve to be sent home for that? Of course not! Even the other women were shocked. And when she tried to smooth things over, I honestly felt bad for her. It would have been more beneficial to talk to the wall. When Victoria said “Marylynn definitely needs to go home tonight, because I hate her” it was obvious who the toxic bitch was the entire time, but Matt failed to see it. I kept thinking “You have no idea how many people hate YOU, Victoria!”

Things did not get better in episode 3. The girls found a new person to gang on this time – Sarah. And their leader was, of course, The Queen. It may not be Sarah’s show, but we did not want to be Victoria’s, either! Honestly, every single time she opened her mouth in interviews, I just gaged. At this time, I was not the only one wondering what is she still doing in the house. I haven’t read even one positive comment about her anywhere. The majority of people were just annoyed at this point.
The other women managed to show their mean streak, as well. I may not have agreed with how Sarah interrupted their group date, but what they did was straight up bulling. Kit’s comment about her living situation seemed like a thread and when Victoria said “Yes” and laughed I just wanted to punch her in the face! She looked so entitled and obnoxious! It came to no surprised that Sarah left, I would probably do the same. It was a pity, though, because she seemed to have such a good connection with Matt.

Episode 4 made this season of The Bachelor a bit painful to watch. The bulling got on a whole another level, when 5 new contestants arrived to compete for Matt’s heart. It is needless to say that the original girls (OG’s) were not happy. And they could not think of a better way to show their feelings rather than being mean, dismissive, and cruel to the new women. Victoria came so far as to rip the crown off the head of another contestant and Anna spread a rumor that Brittany is an escort. But wait! If that was not enough she confronted her about that in front of the rest of the group. At this point the situation in the house began to spin out of control. Because it is one thing to argue for a man, and a totally different story to make a claim on National TV that might ruin somebody’s life. I feel for this poor girl, because, even if the rumor is not true, she is going to be stigmatized for a very long time! She also confided in Matt that her mother is watching the show. Imagine hearing a thing like that about your daughter. Just crazy! So we were all happy when Matt took the right decision and sent Anna, Victoria and MJ home in subsequent episodes.
But let’s talk about Victoria’s exit. OMG! When she said she’s brought so many people in the house joy I was watching with my mouth open and thinking “What is wrong with this chick?” Actually, a lot! How calling somebody a “hoe” can be taken out of context?? She might feel sorry for Matt, but I am sorry for her. It must be really, really hard to be THAT horrible. AND I don’t think she is the most popular person now that the show has aired.

Just when I thought he got rid of the last remains of negative energy by sending MJ home – Surprise, surprise! – we saw how the women treated poor Heather. I am not a huge fan of the whole twist of her appearing on the show, I found the whole thing ridiculous, but COME ON!!! She did not deserve the viciousness! She actually seems like a sweet person and she tried to behave nicely. Piper comments were uncalled for and the overall behavior of the girls was petty and vicious. They practically tore the poor girl to pieces. I just cringed at Matt’s comment how the contestants handled everything that was thrown at them with grace. I detected non, except in Heather’s decision not to rat them out and let him know what an unworthy bunch of hyenas he is dating.

Not everyone on the show this season was that bad, though! I really liked Sarah and Chelsea. They seemed like sweet and genuine people and deserved to get at least home-town dates, in my opinion. For me the utmost star was Katie. Even though Sarah interrupted her time with Matt, she was willing to clear the air and stand up to the rest of the women. Then she defended the new-comers from the pack of hungry wolves. That made me respect and admire her even more. I believe that given the opportunity she would make an exemplary Bachelorette. Even if they do not choose her for that, I would love to see her on Paradise or any other spin-off.

Matt’s journey to find love reminds me more of a remake of Mean Girls than of a romantic Reality. Although, he kind of took care of things in the end, I was surprised to see how he failed to notice the bulling going on. If it was not for Katie, he might have had a home town date with Victoria in this week’s episode! To end on a positive note – everyone got what they deserved. And I hope Matt does as well – ending up with the right girl, that is.
