Human existence is made of moments connected with places and people. Some of those turn into memories, and a fraction of those memories we remember all our lives. Years passed since I’ve visited Chernobyl, but this eerie Ukrainian town is engraved in my brain. Maybe places like this – that are connected with immense human tragedy – are hard to erase. But one thing is sure – for me, Chernobyl will always be the most memorable city I’ve ever visited.

A Guide to Bulgarian Traditions

What is it to be a Bulgarian? Well, I guess there is no simple answer to that question. What makes a person to be a part of a nation is an inner feeling of pride and understanding of different traditions and behaviors embedded in the national psychology. And we might not be a rich country, but of traditions we have a lot!

The Bulgarian state was established in 681. During its many centuries of existence, the country managed to keep some of its pagan traditions, mix them with Christian rituals, and create a folklore, fit for the high-spirited, feisty and brave inhabitants of its lands. As a true Bulgarian, I am happy to present to you some of our unique traditions that cannot be found anywhere else in the world.

Traveling during a Pandemic: Tips from a Flight Attendant

The Aviation industry was hit really hard by the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) reports a 50% drop in domestic passenger traffic globally and even worse decrease in international travel – 74%. But in the beginning of 2021 there is a glimmer of hope for those of us who wish to return to traveling. More and more people are choosing to overcome their fear of the pandemic and trust airlines in their quest to keep them safe and take them to the desired destination!
